Minor or debilitating pain, it is a warning sign
Is your personal check engine light on? Whether it's a minor irritaiton in your body or something more severe, the one thing not to do it IGNORE IT. Your body is talking to you, ARE YOU LISTENING? Some mild pains can be easier to rehab. Bigger issues can take much longer. When you ignore the pain your body will make adjustments to compensate for pain. This may even take the pain away temporarily. The pain can then come back stronger or in a different location.
Building a solid foundation for movement is essential for longevity, diminishing pain and for performance. You may not be in pain but want to make sure you are doing things right as to avoid future issues. This is a great place to start. I have helped many young teenagers start their athletic pursuits off on the right foot.
When I started taking my own advice with my own workouts, it has been remarkable. I find myself doing yard work, playing with my kids and not "paying" for it later or the next day. I can participate in activities, even new ones without reaching for the ibuprofen. I want to help you do that. I have spent nearly 20 years figuring out the best approaches. My own workouts have changed drastically. I am still amazed when I work outside and wake up feeling good the next day. Full expecting to "pay" for my activities the next day. It's awesome!
